Algie King

Algie Deets King, age 83, of Westminster , died Thursday May 4, 2006 at the Carroll Hospital Center after a lengthily illness. He was born July 28, 1922 in Clarksburg , MD ; he was son of the late Norris and Elizabeth Penner King. He retired from the Carroll County Government after working many years. He was a volunteer for 29 years at the Carroll Hospital Center . He was a member of the New Windsor Fire Dept., New Windsor Lions Club, New Windsor Senior Citizens, A.A.R.P. member and the Super Sixties of the Church of the Open Door where he attended worship services and Sunday school. He is survived by his closest family member Helen Franklin and her children: Robert and Betty Fowler of Fl, Robert and Sharon Franklin of Mt. Airy , Bill and Sonia Franklin of Crofton, MD. Grandchildren: Jeff Franklin, Gary & Sheri Maring, Michael and Shawn Franklin, Christopher and Christina Franklin, Rick and Kellye Anderson, Jay and Kara Franklin. And 11 great grandchildren. Sister Amy Gakenheimer and nephews Ronald and Gary Gakenheimer. He was preceded in death by one sister Geneva Shields and brothers Woodrow King and Charles King. Funeral Service will be held Monday May 8, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Road , Winfield, (Beside South Carroll High School) with Rev. John Campbell of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster and Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating. Interment will be in Taylorsville U.M. Church Cemetery , Taylorsville, MD. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road , Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM .
