Anna Bankert

Anna Klara Bankert, 97, of Westminster, MD passed away peacefully at Sunflower Hill Assisted Living in Westminster, MD on Thursday, September 19, 2024.Born on March 5, 1927 in Middle River, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Johanna Steidten Fischer. She was the wife of the late Neuman E. Bankert, Sr. with whom she shared 67 years of marriage until his passing in 2014.She was a homemaker and a talented seamstress.
She is survived by son, Neuman E. Bankert, Jr. and wife Jo Ann of Columbia, MD and daughter, Susan Six and husband Brett of Taneytown, MD. Her grandchildren include: Melissa (Aaron) Talbot, Matthew (Bethany) Bankert, Melody (Robert) Montrie, Mark (Heather) Bankert, Bethany Six (Joe Rollison) and Scott (Sara) Six; great grand-children: Wesley, Vivienne, Maxwell and Calvin Talbot; Laura, Anna and Rebecca Bankert; Zachary, Lucas and Aiden Montrie; Fischer and Louisa Bankert; Wyatt and Theodore Six; and step great grand-daughters Savannah and Evangeline Vance.
She was predeceased in death by son, Terry Bankert and siblings: Walter Fischer, Bernhardt Fischer, Frederick Fischer, Kurt Fischer, Louisa Kunze, Rosa Stacey, Esther Sutherland and Maria Reiss. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2-5 pm at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home 1212 W Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD. Services will take place at the funeral home on Monday, September 23, 2024 11 AM with the Rev. Michael Dubsky of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Internment Highland View Cemetery in Berrett, MD.
