Anna Plitt
October 31, 1930 — July 27, 2024
Anna Marie Plitt, nee Zimmerman, age 93, of Catonsville, Md. died July 27th 2024 at her son’s home with family.
Anna was predeceased by her spouse August Alfred Plitt.
Anna was born October 31st 1930 in the city of Baltimore.
She attended the Institute of Notre Dame high school and began her career at Maryland Casualty Insurance Co downtown. She worked for Dr. Settle in his office and did medical transcription at her home on her personal typewriter making carbon copies for his records. She later worked at Saint Agnes Hospital as a unit clerk. At the same time she raised seven children and ran an organized home under various stages of construction.
Anna was a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Catonsville congregation. Her faith was a great comfort to her and she developed many friendships among the members.
She was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Hedwig Zimmerman, her husband August Alfred Plitt, her son, Milton George Plitt, brothers, Walter and Anthony Zimmerman, sister in laws Fran and Jackie Zimmerman, son in laws Thomas Donnelly and Robert Passarell. Also part of the family and very much missed Miss Dolores Nicholson.
Anna is survived by her brother Karl Zimmerman, sister-in-law Catherine Zimmerman, daughters; Dolores Donnelly, Deborah Passarell, Diana Eichelman, Teresa Plitt, and sons; Alfred Plitt, Charles Plitt and their respective wives, Kim and Lynn Plitt.
Gigi, as she wanted to be known to her grandchildren, is also greatly missed by 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at graveside at Lakeview Memorial Park, 2724 Liberty Rd, Sykesville, Md. on August 24th at 11:00am.
