Anna Louise Zais True, age 79 , of Mt. Airy, MD, died unexpectedly on June 20, 2017.

Born in Cumberland, MD, on March 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Patrick Zais and Emma Elizabeth Hanning Zais.

Louise was a proud graduate of Fort Hill High School (Class of 1956).

She moved to Mt. Airy, with her husband and children, in 1959. She was employed by Montgomery Ward, C&P Telephone, the National Bureau of Standards and Carroll County Public Schools. Louise worked at Mt. Airy Elementary School as an instructional assistant and at South Carroll High School as a media clerk.

Louise will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the happiest when she spent time with loved ones for Sunday dinner, birthdays and other family events. She enjoyed the festivities related to holidays and especially loved preparing for Christmas. Louise also enjoyed gardening, coffee time with friends and baking. She was a wonderful cook.

She was a member of the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Red Hat Society. She attended Marvin Chapel UMC.

Louise is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roy “Dick” True; her children, Patty Gomola and Jeff True; her son-in-law, Jim Gomola; her grandchildren, Chris Gomola and wife, Michelle, Jonathan Gomola and Heather True; her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Cayden, Olivia and Lucy; her sister-in-law, Lois True; and she will be remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Frederick Zais.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home in Winfield from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The funeral will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 10:30 AM, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD, with the Reverend Debbie Scott officiating. Internment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD.
