Beloved wife of the late Fred Leon Lyles, Sr.
Mrs. Lyles was born May 28, 1941 in Mt. Airy, MD the daughter of the late Florine E. Cook and late step-father Eugene C. Cook.
She retired from Gina Drexel Daycare in Mt. Airy and had also been a Secretary for Stups Garage in Mt. Airy, MD and had worked for Montgomery County School Board. Mrs. Lyles was an active member of Fairview United Methodist Church serving on the finance committee, Usher and sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and doing yard work, she was also a member of the O.E.S Hope Chapter #52 of New Market.
Devoted mother of Krista Rena Lyles of Mt. Airy, Tawanda Annette and husband Andre Bailey of Frederick, Timothy Lee and wife Trudy Lyles of Frederick, Fred Leon and wife Diane Lyles, Jr. of Hagerstown. 6 grandchildren Marcus, Kayla, Timothy, Jr., Steven, Ashli, Aeisha; 3 great grandchildren Nevaeh, Michael and Isaiah. Dear sister of Melvin “Jeff” Cook.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 21, 2023 at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 3PM to 5Pm and 7PM to 9 PM where funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 11 AM. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD Those desiring may make contributions to the Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Foundation or St. Judes.
