Mrs. Sawyer, daughter of the late Walter and Eunice Cummins, was born in 1927 in Glen Echo, MD, where she spent many years before moving to Clearwater FL in 1971 to serve on the staff of Clearwater Christian College as Food Manager, and later, Bookstore Manager. Her love for “her kids” there was unmistakable, and she came to be known affectionately by all as “Aunt Bea”. Countless hours were spent counseling and advising in love, and without judgment or reservation, any who came to her for spiritual help. Her wisdom always pointed them to the Lord, where they could find the help and relief they needed.
The last six years of her life were spent with her daughter, Mrs. Pam van Hemert, and her family in Mt. Airy, Maryland, where she was a faithful member of Mount Airy Bible Church.
Counseling, encouraging and praying for others was her God given purpose in life, and she took great joy in fulfilling that purpose exclusively in her later years. She also faithfully provided financial support to 16 ministries each month to further the gospel of Christ.
