Bessie U. Pickett (nee Wain), age 79, of Ellenton , FL , formerly of Sykesville , MD , died on Wed. July 11, 2007 at Tidewell Hospice Palliative Care in Palmetto, FL. She was born September 21, 1927 in East Liverpool , Ohio the daughter of the late Percy Wain and Bessie U. Wain (nee Mellott). She was a retired cashier for Giant Food Store. She was a member of Baltimore Ostomy Association. She was the wife of John Edward Pickett, Jr. She was the mother of Wain Edward Pickett of Hanover , PA , Rebecca Darlene Steigelman of Carlisle , PA and Cherie Ursula Strosnider of Manchester , MD. Dear sister of Robert Wain of Barnesville, Ohio, Dean Wain of East Liverpool, Ohio, and David Wain of Woodstock, MD and the late Phyllis Boisvert. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 16, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road , Sykesville (Beside Side South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Guy Biller officiating. Interment Lake View Memorial Park.
