Bryan Crawford Profile Photo
Bryan Thomas Crawford, 50, of Hampstead, Maryland died suddenly on October 27. Bryan was born in Towson, MD and attended Calvert Hall College (Go Hall!), Frostburg, and Towson University. He had an idyllic, oft storied childhood in Finksburg, Maryland, where he lived with his brothers Shaun and Derrick and parents, Tom and Brenda. His neighborhood yielded lifelong friendships in Scott and Trey and stories of sledding, pool parties, volleyball, and Christmas’ with floating presents and a lack of a GI Joe aircraft carrier. He had so many jobs and cars, we may never know them all. Bryan was a connector of people - mixing his chocolate and his peanut butter he would say - which often yielded lasting friendships and people at our Thanksgiving dinners. He was a member of Bon Air Country Club and loved to play golf with whoever was up for it, encouraging friends to join because - no tee times! He was a planner of trips, a buyer of great and thoughtful gifts. He left a trail of sunglasses and hats wherever he went. His best friends were Trey and Aaron, and Aaron’s friendship was likely his most valuable possession. He and Trey are together now, both looking out for their families.

Most importantly, he was a great and loving father to James and Charlie and husband to Katie. He brought silliness and joy to the house. He was so proud of his kids, not for anything they did, but for who they are as people. He was a carve a giant pumpkin, build a raceway for a birthday party, research cars, take you on the field at a Ravens game, buy a surprise train set, plan elaborate vacations to walk over crocodiles and zip line over rivers, kind of dad. He was a I’m-going-to-get-you-down-this-mountain ski instructor to all. He was a patient enthusiast of new activities, only after buying the most expensive equipment necessary to start it. He was a devoted and loving partner to his childhood sweetheart Katie for over 30 years. He had a sparkle in his eyes, a dad joke at the ready, and a smile that lit up his face. He will be missed by all.
