Catherine Franklin

Catherine E. Franklin (nee Reaver), age 88, of Westminster, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Sun Valley Assisted Living in Westminster. She was born September 14, 1923 in Westminster, MD the daughter of the late Henry C. Reaver and the late Blanche Smith Reaver. She farmed all her life. She was a life member of Carroll County and Maryland Farm Bureau. Life member of New Hope U.M. Church, Formerly Bethel U.M. Church, in New Windsor. She enjoyed gardening, needle work and animals especially her dog and companion, Dolly. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Franklin for 48 years. She was the mother of four daughters, Mary C. & Donald Brancato of Lynchburg, S.C, Elaine F. and Greg Jones of New Market, MD, Janet and Ralph Billings of Westminster and Lucinda F. “Cindy” and K. Steven Keeney of New Windsor, MD. She was the sister of- Doris V. Feeser and Henry C. Reaver and the late Evelyn M. Nelson. Grandmother of- Catherine Karr, Charles Brancato, Susan Vizas, Joy Stanley, Carrie Billings, and Brian, Kristen, Timothy and Roy Jones. Also survived by 11 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM., and on Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10:30 AM at New Hope (Bethel) U.M. Church, 3001 Hooper Road, New Windsor, MD 21776 with Rev. Helen S. Armiger officiating.
