Charles G. R. Arnold, Sr. 88 of New Windsor, MD, passed away Friday April 6, 2007 after an extended illness. Mr. Arnold was born August 6, 1918 in Toronto , Canada . He was the husband of Jeanne Arnold. He was the son of late George Washington Arnold and late Meta Ulrich Arnold. He became a United States Citizen in April of 1943. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart. He was a self employed business man in Howard County, MD for over 35 years. Mr. Arnold was the owner operator of B&A Amoco on Route 40 for 25 years, then Arnold Laundromat at the same location for over 10 years. Mr. Arnold was fortunate to have enjoyed more than 30 years of retirement with his wife, family and many friends in Maryland and Florida . Mr. Arnold is Survived by wife of 66 years Helen M. Buell Arnold. Children: Rose Lee Watcher and husband George of Frederick County, MD, Charles G. R. Arnold, Jr. and wife of Ellicott City, MD and Donna M. Reed and husband John of Laurel, Delaware, 12 Grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield , MD 21784 on Monday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday April 10, from 9 to 11 AM . Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Grammer of the Church of the Open Door. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens , Marriottsville , MD.
