Charles Klaus

Charles H. Klaus, Sr., age 96, of Woodlawn, Died peacefully, Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at his home, following a brief illness. He was born March 10, 1914 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late John W. Klaus, Sr. and the late Katherine D. Klaus (nee Ahring). He was a faithful member of the Independent Order of Old Fellows for 75 years. As well as belonging to the Rebecca’s’ Lodge. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. President of Calvert Distillery Retiree’s Club, longtime member of the Salem U.M. Church in Hebbville, MD. He was the husband of Frances B. Klaus (nee Brophy) of 49 years. He was the father of- Charles H. Klaus, Jr and wife Raye and Cassie A. Klaus-Maye and husband Merrill. Also survived by his loving and faithful companion Margaret “Dolly” Duvall, 4 granddaughters, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday from 3-7 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 9:30 AM with the Rev. Michael Sharp of Salem U.M. Church in Hebbville officiating.
