Charles Thomas

Charles Howard Thomas, age 63, of Westminster , died Thursday January 19, 2006 at Westminster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center , Westminster , MD. He was born August 23, 1942 in Frederick County, MD, the son of the late Charles Leonard Thomas and the late Millie Elnora Thomas (nee Howard). He was educated in the Frederick County School System. After graduating from high school, he worked at Henryton State Hospital from 1960 to 1984 and then at Carroll County School Board in Westminster until retirement. Charlie worked as a custodian at Carrolltown Mall and Eldersburg Medical Center . On May 27, 1967 he was united in marriage to Pearl Cook and from this union they were blessed with the birth of two children, Brigitte and Charles, Jr. Charlie was a likeable man with many friends and was always willing to do a favor for anyone. He was an avid gardener who liked to see nature at work. He was known to have a “green thumb”. Charles leaves to cherish his memories: wife Pearl Thomas (nee Cook) and three children: daughter - Francis Forman and husband Darryl, daughter - Brigitte Thomas, and son - Charles Thomas, Jr. and wife Darnella. He is also survived by sister Regina Thomas, sister-in-laws, Bernice Wilson, Martha Cook, and Betty Cook, brother-in-law Maurice Cook, five grandchildren, Darnell Forman , Brittany Forman, Brittlynn Thomas, Deandre Thomas, and Kennedy Thomas, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and one devoted friend, Russell Williams. Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 23, 2006 at 10 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Road , Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with Rev. Doris Ridgely officiating. Interment Fairview Cemetery , Mt. Airy, MD. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Sunday from 6-8 PM.
