Charlotte Rosalie Wolden, age 97 of Westminster, Maryland
Died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at The Meadows at Sun Valley Assisted Living Facility, Westminster, Maryland
Was the spouse of the late Lawrence Charles Grant Middlekamp and the late Donald Glenn Wolden.
Was born March 4, 1927, in Cumberland, Maryland, the daughter of the late Robert James Martin, Jr. and the late Lottie May Troxell Martin.
Retired for many years but enjoyed her time working at Brown’s Furniture Store in Washington D.C. in the 1950s, and then later at the University of Maryland Adult Education Center in the 1970s.
She attended Hyattsville, Hillandale and Calverton Baptist Churches, and Calvary Methodist Church in Mount Airy, Maryland. Enjoyed eating Maryland crabs, spending time with her family, and watching FOX News all day long. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling, site seeing, socializing with friends, hosting lady’s luncheons, playing bridge, attending tennis tournaments with her 1st husband Larry, visiting relatives in the Cumberland, Maryland area; she was the quintessential mother and housewife of the 60s and 70s. She started many family traditions that included the forever wave goodbye, family vacations at the beach, a pickle in the Christmas tree, and “bugging.” She was a previous member of Cheverly Swim & Racquet Club and enjoyed doubles tennis with her friends well into her 70s.
Surviving Relatives: Daughter Charlene R. Middlekamp Singleton and husband Robert, son Lance C. Middlekamp and wife, Theresa (nee Flyzik), Grandchildren Jennie Singleton Frazier (husband Colin), David Singleton, Emily Singleton Detterman (husband Frederick), Lance J. Middlekamp (wife Leanna nee Diffendal) and Tara Middlekamp, and great-grandchildren Julianna Singleton, Christina Carucci, Thomas Carucci, Mason Middlekamp, Harrison Detterman, and Baby Middlekamp who is on the way, as well as a nephew, Buddy Peer, her nieces Margaret Martin Beckman, Jean Martin Gnegy, and Debbie Martin Dye (Pete’s girls), and many great-nieces and nephews.
