Dale R. Hayes 56, of Westminster, Maryland passed away at Johns Hopkins Hospital from complications due to a severe stroke. He was surrounded by family and loved ones during his last days and fought hard until his passing on the morning of November 15, 2021.
He was raised in Mt. Airy, Maryland and was a graduate of South Carroll High School in 1983. He was a hardworking man, dedicating more than 35 years to the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers in Laurel, MD.
Dale was predeceased by his father, Richard Hayes in 1992 and brother- in-law Gary Rice in 2021. He is survived by his three daughters, Danielle, Jessica, and Morgan Hayes; grandson Damien Coffee; mother to his children, Molly Fox; mother, Dawn Hayes; brother, Rick Hayes; sister, Debbie Rice; sister Denise and Mark Paolini; Nieces and Nephews, Michelle, Joey, Brogan, Garrett, Gunner, Elena, and Addison.
Dale was fiercely independent, loyal to his work and loved his family and spending time with his close friends, Anthony, and Pam. He took great pride in his daughters and spending time with his grandson. He loved riding his motorcycle and enjoyed the company of his faithful dog, Jasper. He looked forward to Tuesday night family dinners and made some of the best Maryland Crab Soup around. He was a man of his word… a good man, an honest man and he spoke his mind, usually with no filter. Dale would give you the shirt off his back and all the money in his wallet. He enjoyed his home away from home in Deep Creek, a hammock, campfires, and the annual biker festivities in Little Orleans. Most days he enjoyed a cold beer and a smoke, listening to rock music and hoping it was warm enough to take a ride. Dale had many close friends; a family who loved him very much and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a good man.
No funeral services will be held, however there will be a celebration of life to honor Dale on December 4,2021 at The Barn at Serra Valley Farms from 1-10 p.m. Friends and family welcome.
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming… Wow! What a Ride!” - Hunter S. Thompson
