David(Dave) Leroy Linton, Sr. 74 of Woodbine
Passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and friends on Sunday morning June 9, 2013 after a brief illness
Born November 15, 1938 in Sykesville, MD. David was the only son of the late Tresa Linton Bower Boehl. He was a very creative individual who was mechanically and musically inclined. For the past 8 months, he enjoyed Thursday nights playing piano with a group known as “Just for Fun Band” . He had a passion for cars and enjoyed car shows. In past David raced Cars, flew a plane, hosted skydiving and was a past member of Winfield Volunteer Fire Department.
He loved his farm and over the years raised many animals, including deer, cattle, bunnies, a horse, a possum and a mule. He was best of friends to his friends, even providing a beautiful gathering place and pavilion complete with a well-equipped kitchen in the area known as the “Falls” Trips to Utah were a favorite getaway. He worked as a self-employed utility contractor, always willing to help out friends and neighbors with his backhoe. His fee for helping was to be paid in homemade pies, peach was always a favorite. More recently he was employed by Edrich Lumber Company in Randallstown, MD.
David is survived by his daughter Charlotte Ann Linton of Woodbine and son David (Woody) Leroy Linton, Jr of Utah. He also leaves behind a special niece, Janet Busic, a good friend, Danny Forrest, his canine buddies, Bubba, Lady Bug and Annie plus numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Vicki Linton, grandparents, Ernest Linton, Crella Gates Linton and former wife, Nancy Smith Linton.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 8 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 Where the Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday 2 to 4 PM and 7 until Service at 8 PM.
