David Yingling
November 1, 1944 — June 16, 2021
David Francis Yingling, 76 of Sykesville, died surrounded by family on June 16, 2021 at Dove House in Westminster, MD. David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Born in Sykesville, he was the son of the late Francis Yingling and Beatrice “Sydney” (Arrington) Yingling. David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann (Wilson) Yingling, son David Wayne Yingling and wife Jennifer L. Rock, daughter-in-law Christine (Franklin) Yingling, sister Susan M. Ballantyne and husband Greg Ballantyne, sister-in-law Doris (Wilson) Chaney, and sister in law Nancy (Warfield) Yingling, and niece Nicki (Yingling) Sweitzer. He was preceded in death by his son Brian W. Yingling, brother Jerry N. Yingling, and brother Michael E. Yingling. He is also survived by grandchildren Zerlina Yingling, Summer Yingling, MacKenzie Yingling, and Murphy Grimsley, and a number of other relatives and friends.
David was a professional driver during his working life, taking over the road semi trucks across the country for many years until his retirement. He then worked for a time at Springfield Hospital, and drove for Carroll Transit for a few years.
David enjoyed sports, and played in the old Sykesville Pony League back in the day. He was an active golfer as well as a fan of both Baseball and Football. He attended school in Sykesville, graduating from High School in 1962. David was a veteran, having served in the Vietnam War as a Marine Medic during the 1960’s.
While David travelled widely both in service to his country and as an over the road truck driver, he lived all his life in and around Sykesville in Carroll County.
