Dawn Shifflett Profile Photo
God has called another angel home. Dawn M. Shifflett was born on July 20, 1961, to parents Ruben and Doris. Dawn grew up in Woodbine, MD among her family and friends. Dawn graduated from South Carroll High School.
After high school, Dawn served in the Army National Guard with four years being active duty. Dawn was employed by Giant food corporation for 42 years.
If you knew Dawn, you would know her first love was for her two sons, Tyler and Dalton. She always spoke of them with love and pride. Dawn always had a special connection with children. Whenever children were around, she would make them feel special and give them lots of love.
When you entered her home, you automatically knew she loved angels. Her home was full of angels of all kinds big and small in every room. She would talk about each one and why it was special to her.
If anyone needed something she would always be the first to offer to help or give. She had an amazing giving spirit and was generous to her family and even a stranger. One of her favorite things to do was go to the beach and listen to the waves.
Her leaving us so suddenly has left all of us devastated and brokenhearted. Our lives are forever changed without her.
She is survived by her sons, Tyler And Dalton McCoy, her dad Ruben “Billy” Shifflett, mom Doris Calhoun, siblings Robert Shifflett, Billy Shifflett, Tina Welsh and her forever sister best friend Candy. She is also survived by nephews, Robert Jr. Joshua and Timothy and nieces Samantha, Harley and Savannah. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever miss her laughter and her smile.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Russell & Myrtle Shifflett whom she loved and adored. Also preceded in death by her stepmom, Nellie, and her nephew Billy.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 5-7 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). Where Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 11 AM.
