Delano Myers

Mr. Delano Roosevelt Myers, Sr., 90 of Westminster, MD departed this life on Friday, January 19, 2024.
He was born on December 29, 1933, in Mt. Airy, MD, the son of the late Christina and John Wesley Myers.
Delano met his late wife Clara Bernice Myers in Carroll County; on May 26, 1954, they were united in marriage. God blessed this union with nine children.
"Peanut, "as he was fondly known by his family and friends, attended the Mt. Airy public schools till 7th grade. He was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir in Lisbon. He worked for Montgomery County public schools for several years as a custodian. He also drove a lumber truck for several years before driving a trash truck as a CDL driver for over 20 years with Hughes Trash Removal where he retired.
He is survived by his children Gwendolyn Ellis & husband Jerome, Allen Myers & wife Diane, Barbara Hill, Anthony Myers & wife Sharon, Tammy Abdullah & husband Rasheed, Jerome Myers & wife Estelle; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; along with mans best friend, his dog, also named, "Peanut".
Delano Myers was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters Rosetta and Eleanor Myers and son Delano Myers, Jr., and a son in law Carl Hill.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11 AM to 12 Noon with Funeral Service starting at 12 Noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School).
Interment at Simpson United Methodist Church Cemetery.
