Doris Mae Fowble (nee Sanner) of Woodbine, passed away on Monday, April 3, at the age of 101. Doris was born September 20, 1915 in Woodbine, the daughter of the late Roger Fairfax Sanner and Norma Davis Sanner. She is predeceased by her husband of many years, Clarence Owen Fowble and her only child, Charlotte Fowble Schmersal. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Roger Fairfax Sanner, Jr.
Doris was a gracious hostess who enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was known for her pound cake. She was the oldest living member of Calvary Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aide Society at Calvary.
Doris is survived by her son-in-law, Arthur Henry Schmersal of Phoenix; her grandchildren, Richard Michael Schmersal (Maribeth) of Atlanta, GA, and Jeffrey Scott Schmersal (Lyndsey) of Greenville, SC; her great-grandchildren, Thomas Wilson and Mary Katherine Schmersal; and her niece, Carol Ann Sanner of Bradenton, FL.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 1:30 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church 16151 Old Frederick Rd. Mt. Airy, MD 21797 Private Interment at Mt.
