Doris Lorraine (Ashby) Kautz
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Lorraine (Ashby) Kautz on November 7th, 2024. Affectionately known as “Dardo,” she was an avid Baltimore baseball and football fan, and loved music and dance. She liked working crossword puzzles and was a voracious reader. Doris loved parties and considered her children’s friends her friends. Her heart and her home were open to everyone.
Doris married Charles Kautz in 1956 while living and working in Laurel, MD. She later went to work as an administrative assistant for many years at NTMA in Oxon Hill, MD. Doris was also a long-time resident of the Village House in Sykesville, where she had many friends.
She is survived by three children, Sandy Hall, Rob Kautz and Tracy Loppatto, and daughter in law Terry Galvin Kautz and son in law Steve Loppatto. Doris is also survived by four grandchildren, Andi Galvin, Erika Loppatto (and fiancé Taylor Damsky), Stephanie Loppatto and Nick Loppatto. She would have met her first great grandchild this year.
