Dorothy May Anderson (nee Dodd), age 94, of Sykesville, MD, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at her home.
She was born September 2, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio, daughter of the late John Austin Dodd and the late Martha Dodd Ross (nee Baer).
She was the wife of the late Robert Douglas Anderson, Sr., married for 73 years.
She was a Claims Examiner for Social Security Administration for 23 years; worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital in DC for 10 years; member of Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg, member of Thunderbird Twirlers and Four County Square Dances; liked making greeting cards.
Mother of Sandra J. and husband Bill Derr of Taneytown, Judi A. and husband Roy Block of San Antonio, TX, Robert D. Anderson, Jr. and wife Joyce of Westminster, and Donna R. and husband Donnie Franklin.
Sister of the late Pat Branham.
Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Road, Sykesville on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 12:30 PM with Rev. Jim Edmonson officiating.
Friends may call at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM; and Friday from 11:30-12:30PM at the Church.
Interment Lake View Memorial Park.
