Dorothy Gosnell

Dorothy Gosnell, age 98, of Mount Airy, Maryland arrived at her heavenly home on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born on June 24, 1925, in Taylorsville, Maryland to the late Harry Truman Frizzell and the late Helen Marguerite Harn Frizzell. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband James Gosnell and her son Harry Basil “Bas” Gosnell. Dorothy is survived by her grandson Steven M. Gosnell (Ginger), her great-grandchildren Steven J. and Chesney Gosnell, AJ and Austin Webber, sisters Joan Smith and Mickey Hann, as well as her dear friend Diane Fox. She was employed throughout her lifetime by Westminster Knit, Olde Town Restaurant, and Weis Market where she worked until the age of 93. She was an excellent seamstress, an outstanding cook, and a vivid storyteller. In the time she lived with her grandson and his family, she taught them how to prepare numerous meals, including her coleslaw and chicken & dumplings recipes. Per Dorothy’s wishes, interment will be private with preparations cared for by Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA, Sykesville, MD.
