Douglas Lee Bolner Sr. 79 of Eldersburg MD, passed peacefully Saturday July 6th, 2024 surrounded by family at the Dove House in Westminster. Born on March 28th, 1945, in Grafton WV to Charles Edward and Rotha Z Bolner. He had one sister and three brothers.
Doug was a Navy Veteran serving Active Duty during the Vietnam War. He was a 2nd Class Storekeeper stationed on a Tank Landing Ship the USS Orleans Parish (LST-1069). Then after serving in the Navy Reserves, Doug was discharged with Honorable Service.
Doug was an avid outdoorsman enjoying sport shooting, hunting and fishing. He spent many years at his hunting leases on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and on the waters of Assateague Island with his sons. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his grandkids.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents, sister and two brothers.
Doug is survived by his wife Wanda Lynn Bolner of Eldersburg MD, Son and Daughter-In-Law Douglas Lee Bolner Jr and Linda Bolner of Willards MD, Son and Daughter-In-Law Wade Lee Bolner and Brittany Bolner of New Windsor MD, Grandson Easton Lee Bolner and Granddaughter Ainsley Lynn Bolner both of New Windsor MD, Brother and Sister-In-Law Charles Bolner and Lois Bolner of Baltimore MD, as well as many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School).
Interment will be private.
