Douglas M. Talbert, of Keedysville, MD passed away unexpectedly at home in Mount Airy, MD on June 7, 2016, at the age of 70.
He was the dear son of the late Ann Catherine "Annie" Talbert and Theophilus "Lefty" Talbert of Keedysville, MD.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Karen A. Talbert along with their two children Cheri "Hemmie" Riley and David Carter. His grandchildren, Shawn, Brandon, Haley and Savannah are grieving the loss of their loving, affectionate, and devoted "Pap Pap."
Additionally, Doug is survived by his two brothers, Ernest and Donald Talbert; his aunt Mae Bowers; his
stepmother, Gerry Leather; his stepsister, Lorraine Kline; as well as their spouses, in-laws, nieces,
nephews and "The Talbert Cousins."
As a sergeant in the US Army, Doug was awarded the Purple Heart for his injuries sustained in Vietnam.
After serving his country, Doug was employed by Safeway as a meat department associate. For decades he was Self Employed Home Improvement Professional.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN
FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, where Funeral Services will take place Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Internment will occur at a later date.
