Edward Leon Miller, Jr., age 85, of Sandy Hook, VA, formerly of Sykesville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, VA.
He was born August 12, 1929 in Pikesville, MD the son of the late Edward Leon Miller, Sr., and the late Virgie Belle Naylor Miller.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an Engineer for Bell Atlantic Phone Companies. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminster, MD.
He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret E. Miller.
He was the devoted father of-Wendy Carter and husband Charles and the late Kimberly McCulloh.
He was the dear brother of Dorothy Kreiger and the late Robert Miller.
He was the loving grandfather of Josh and Brandon Carter.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, with the Dr. Norris E. Belcher, Jr. officiating.
Interment with Military Honors will at Lake View Memorial Park.
