Edward Roche
February 24, 1950 — April 9, 2023
Edward Robert Roche, (Bobby) 73, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday April 9th, 2023.
Mr. Roche was born on February 24, 1950, in Washington DC to the late Raymond Aloysius Roche and Josephine Lees Roche.
He was a kindhearted man who always put others before himself. He would often go to children’s hospitals and nursing homes and provide entertainment for patients with his guitar.
Mr. Roche was a graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School and shined in athletics playing both baseball and football. He later went on to play Quarterback for Towson State University. After graduating from Towson, he went on to play Semi Pro Football for the Baltimore Eagles.
Bobby, as friends and family called him, loved sports, and enjoyed giving back to the community and coaching is where he shined. He coached football at the youth level in his early days at Yale Heights. He also coached in the Christian Athletic Association for many years, manning the sidelines in both soccer and baseball. He eventually moved on to the high school ranks, Coaching Football at Atholton and Samuel Banks High school.
Mr. Roche loved spending time with his family and friends. He would always brag about his kids to everyone he met. He loved to dance and enjoyed time with his spouse Sherry Anderson.
Mr. Roche is survived by his 3 sons, Darren Matthew Roche of Dunedin Florida, Kevin Robert Roche of Carlsbad California, and Brian Patrick Roche of Westminster Maryland. He is the beloved grandfather to Gabrielle Lynn Roche, Dylan Thomas Roche, Xander Skye Castro, and Olivia Lynn Roche.
Mr. Roche wanted to be remembered in life, not death; therefore, we ask that folks join in celebrating him on Friday April 14th, 2023, from 2-3 PM with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School).
