Elizabeth Barnes

Elizabeth Ann Barnes (nee Naill), age 102, of Taylorsville, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Brinton Woods Health Care Center in Sykesville, MD. She was born April 16, 1909 near Mt. Airy, Carroll County, MD the daughter of the late John E. Naill and the late Lilly Harrison Naill. She was the wife of the late William Herman Barnes, Sr., who died March 1982. She was the youngest of three children. She was a graduate of Mt. Airy High School Class of 1926. She was a member of Taylorsville U.M. Church. She was a Homemaker on the farm near Taylorsville. She was the mother of W.H. Barnes, Jr. of Mt. Airy and Donald E. Barnes and wife Linda of Wagener, South Carolina. Grandchildren, Julia Call and husband David of Prince Frederick, Jim Barnes and wife Suellen of Mt. Airy, Cheryl Roesel and husband Greg of Thomasville, GA, , Andrea Hartwell and husband Daren of Oxford, AL. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by Sister Marjorie VanSant, and Brother J. Claude Naill. Funeral Service will be held at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Sarah B. Dorrance of Taylorsville U.M. Church in Taylorsville officiating. Friends may call from 10:30-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Taylorsville U.M. Church Cemetery, Taylorsville, MD. Memorial Contributions can be made to: Taylorsville U.M.
