Erma Jane Gartrell (nee Porter), 91 of Mt. Airy passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.
She was the wife of the late Marvin Edward “Pete” Gartrell of Mt. Airy, MD for 60 Years.
She was born July 23, 1932, in Woodbine, MD the daughter of the late Ollie Porter and the late Mamie Porter (nee Green).
She enjoyed playing cards, yard sales, bingo, her cats, gameshows and spending time with her family & friends.
She was the mother of Kim Gartrell Endres of Mt. Airy, Tammy A. Duvall of Woodbine and Tony M. Gartrell of Mt. Airy. Grandmother of Jennifer Duvall, Jason Endres and wife Glynnis, Jacob Duvall, Justin Gartrell, and Josh Gartrell. Great-grandmother of Natalee, Nathaniel, Zachary, Harrison, Cayden, Calvin, & Nalayna. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and family physician and friend Donnell James.
Preceded in death by son in law Harry “Junior” Duvall, sisters Ruby, Margaret, Elsie, Irene, Myra, and Dollie and brothers Andrew & Carroll.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, where Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11 AM.
