Estella Marie Jason Anderson Buie, daughter of the late Sophie Louise Myers and Edward L. Jason was born October 11, 1930 in Winfield, MD Estella departed this life on April 3, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare Sykesville, MD.
Estella graduated from Robert Moton High School, Westminster, MD. After graduating high school she met and married Roger Anderson. The two of them moved to New York City, through this union were born two daughters Brenda and Belinda Anderson, some years later they divorced.
During her stay in New York she was employed by Jewish Hospital Memorial. Upon her return to Maryland 17 years later she began employment at Rosewood State Hospital for the Mentally Handicaped. She would work part time at Chapel Hill Nursing Home until the untimely death of her daughter Belinda, at that time she stopped working to care for and raise Belinda’s four children. Prior to taking on and raising her grandchildren she met and married her husband Alfred Buie.
Estella and two of her sisters worked evenings at Glenelg Country School. Estella and husband Alfred attended Fairview United Methodist Church until her illness prevented her from being an active member.
She was preceded in death by husband Alfred, daughter Belinda, three sisters; Mable Gundy, Della Cook, Gladys, five brothers; James, Wilbur, Walter, Fred and Edward. She leaves to cherish her memories, daughter Brenda (Albert), her eight grandchildren Shon, Demontre (Joyce), Albert Jr. (Sarah), Jesseca (Brian), Justin, Jared, Micah, Melvin, Nineteen great-grandchildren and two close family friends, Pearline and daughter Vonette. Two Sisters, Lillian Nelson and Dorothy Hollingsworth and host of nieces and nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 10 – 11 AM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School). At which time the funeral service will begin at 11 AM.
Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
