Esther Karola Pond, 68 of Westminster, MD passed Sunday August 14,
2016 following an extended illness at Carroll Lutheran Village. She
was born October 15, 1947 in Ansbach, Germany to the late Chief Master
Sergeant Wayne Pond and his wife Ilona Hellmanczyk-Pond. Being raised
in an Air Force family, Esther was fortunate to travel the world
during her father’s enlistment. She finally settled in New Hampshire in
the late 1960's. After seeing her two children to school age she
started working for Digital Equipment Corp from 1980 to 1991 as an
Executive Assistant. She later studied for her Real Estate license and
began selling homes in NH then later in Maryland. Esther moved to
Winfield Maryland to be closer to her two sons in 2003 and still was
practicing Reality. She was a woman of great faith, enjoyed bible
study and attending services at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. An
avid chef she enjoyed cooking, sharing recipes, and spending time with
close friends. To really know her was to love her. Surviving family
are her son Christopher Turgeon of Westminster, his wife Karry
Turgeon, their children Megan Cartee, Tyler Cartee, and twins Nicholas
and Madison Turgeon. Her son Alex Turgeon of Acton, Indiana and his
wife Mary Turgeon, their children Courtney Godwin and Alyssa Turgeon.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27 at 6 p.m.
