Ethel Larue Conaway (nee Fleming), age 97, died Monday, July 1, 2024, at Fairhaven Assisted Living in Sykesville, MD.
She was born October 22, 1926, in Frederick, MD, the daughter of the late Walter O. Fleming and the late Lillian M. Fleming (nee Pickett).
She was the wife of 62 years to the late Jay William Conaway, who passed away on November 5, 2008.
She was a Homemaker and worked with her husband Jay in their General Store in Winfield, a Member of Winfield Bible Chapel, and the Ebenezer OWLS senior group, and a Charter and Life member of the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. She also served on the board of Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Surviving are Son and daughter-in-law Gary J. and Barbara Conaway of Silver Spring, MD.
Grandson Benjamin Conaway and wife Michelle of Gaithersburg, MD, Granddaughter Amy Conaway Haro and husband Erick of Arlington Heights, IL, and great grandchildren Evelyn, Aiden and Brendan Haro.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784.
Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Woodbine, MD.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 1:30-3:30pm at the funeral home.
