Evaleen Moxley Leon, 96 of Mt. Airy, Passed Sunday May 7, 2017.
Beloved wife of the late Malcolm Moxley.
She was born October 7, 1920, in Mt. Airy, MD the daughter of the late Garrison M. Norwood & the late Virginia L. (nee Baker) Norwood.
She retired from National Bureau of Standard and was an Editor of The Community Reporter newspaper in Mt. Airy. Mrs. Leon was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for both the Mt. Airy Vol. Fire Dept., & America Legion God Star Post 191. She loved gardening, singing karaoke, and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Charleen & Bunky Beckett of Mt. Airy. Also survived by 4 grandchildren Sonya Munday, Lisa Haines, Bill Haines and Crystal Geiman; 5 great-grandchildren Richard, Lance, Ashley, Skyler, and Zoe and 1 great-great grandson Colton.
Proceeded in death by her daughter Sylvia Haines who passed in 2001.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 7-9 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). Where Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11 AM.
Interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
