Frances A. Leavitt (nee Allers), age 97, formerly of Randallstown, MD, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Augsburg Lutheran Home.
She was born September 6, 1916 at McDonogh, Maryland, the daughter of the late Charles Edgar Harris and the late Ida Lavinia Allers (nee Hollinsburg).
She was the wife of the late Morrill W. Leavitt.
Her father was employed at the McDonogh School farm where the family lived on the campus for 38 years. After she graduated from Franklin High School, (class of 1933), she worked as Cashier at the McDonogh School for eight years before her marriage to Morrill Leavitt, who in 1944 had been called to active duty in the AUS prior to the second world war. Frances and her husband, Morrill, lived in Hernwood Heights until his death in 1972, Frances continued to keep house there until she moved on August 14, 2007 into The Augsburg Lutheran Home on Campfield Road in Baltimore.
Frances is survived by nieces Nancy Bullock Tucker and Lucinda Bullock, nephew Harry L. Bullock, Jr. and great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by sister Mary Allers Bullock.
Friends may call at the Augsburg Lutheran Home Chapel, 6811 Campfield Road on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 AM at which time funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with the Chaplain-Rev. Michael Hagebusch and Rev. Mark Johnson from Mt. Olive U.M. Church in Randallstown officiating.
Graveside Interment will be at Mt. Olive U.M. Church Cemetery, Randallstown, MD.
