Freda Elaine Condon (nee Baile), age 89, of Woodbine, Died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD; surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 17, 1923, in Woodbine, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Laura Chaney Baile. She was the wife of the late Ralph D. Condon, who died in 2008, with whom she was married for 65 years.
Serving as office manager for the Home Furniture Company, Sykesville, for over 25 years, she was with the company until its closing. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church for more than 53 years where she was the organist, providing beautiful music to the congregation. She served on many committees and until recently was long-time treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Mt. Airy 55 Plus Club and the Red Hat Society of Mt. Airy. An avid knitter and crocheter, she loved to create beautiful projects that she contributed yearly to the church’s bazaar, and her love for quilting was reflected in the many quilts produced each year by the Mt. Olive Senior Citizens, of which she was a founding member. She took great pleasure in cooking and baking her wonderful pies and cakes to share with family and friends, and was loved by many. She was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan.
Surviving are Daughter and son-in-law Linda and Raymond Conaway of Taylorsville, Daughter Alice Scott of Woodbine. She is also survived by Grandsons and wives Ryan and Jennifer Conaway, and Brant and Heidi Conaway and Great-grandchildren Lauren, Meghan, Austin, and Carson Conaway with whom she was lovingly known as GG, many nieces and nephews, and devoted friend, Wayne Arrington.
She was predeceased in death by her sister, Agnes Baile.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Pastor Lynne Humphries-Russ officiating.
Interment will be in Morgan Chapel Cemetery, Woodbine, MD.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM .
