Frederick H. MacInnis, resident of Mount Airy, MD , Passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of December 19, 2015. Frederick was born in Lexington, Massachusetts on April 18, 1936 to parents Alice and Raymond MacInnis as one of nice children. Frederick graduated from Lexington, High School in Lexington, Massachusetts in 1954. He was paratrooper, 101st Airborne Div. of the US Army, from 1954 to 1957. He was also a brother for three years of Maryknoll seminary in Brooklyn, Massachusetts. Then he worked for Pan American Airline at John F. Kennedy Airport, New York, New York. For a period of time then transferred to Mombasa, Kenya with Eastern Test Range. There he met his wife Gerd, a Norwegian working as a radio officer aboard a Norwegian cargo and passenger ship. They have been married 49 ½ years. He also worked for NASA Tracking Station in Madagascar and Newfoundland. Later on, he worked for East Alco Aluminum Company in Buckeystown, MD as a maintenance supervisor and retired from there in 1998 after 19 years of services. He is a member of American Legion Gold Star Post 191 Mt. Airy, MD . In retirement, Frederick loved to tend his garden and grow many vegetables for the family. He was extremely handy as an electrician, plumber, and mechanic, and he fixed everything needed in the household. Here he leaves behind his wife Gerd, his two children, John and Cindy McInnis, granddaughter Melody MacInnis, siblings Late Charlie and wife Rita McInnis, late Raymond and late Shirley McInnis, late Mary McInnis, Edith and husband the late Frank Puelo, Daniel, and wife the late Carol McInnis, Bobby and wife Jean McInnis, Dorothy and husband Don Kimball, the late Florence McInnis, many nieces and nephews, and his brother-in-law Oddvar and wife Elna Mathiesen and their children Gro and Bjarte Mathiesen of Norway.
A Memorial Service will take place Tuesday, December 29, 11 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 9101 Church St. Union Bridge, MD 21791. The Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM in the Church Narthex. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to St. Peter’s Mortgage Fund. Online condolences at www.burrier-queen.com
