George Augustus Wright, Sr., 71 of New Windsor, MD, died Sunday October 24, 2004 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster,MD
He was the Spouse of Alice Devon Nicodemus Wright. They were married , March 28, 1958 for 46 years. He was born June 29, 1933 in Carroll County near Taylorsville.
He was the son of Mary Gladys Walker Wright Runkles and the late Paul David Wright, also preceded in death by Step-father Norman Runkles
Mr. Wright was a graduate of Mt. Airy High School class of 1952. he was employed by C&P telephone for 29 ½ years as a cable splicer. He was also a Licensed Practical Nurse at Springfield State Hospital for several years. He was in the National Guard 29th Division Battery C; 110th Field Artillery Battalion. He enjoyed going to auctions and attending grandchildren’s activities.
Surviving besides his wife and mother are: Daughter and Son-in-law Wanda Jean and A. Michael Smith of Ijamsville, Son and daughter-in-law George (Buddy) A. Wright Jr. and Denise Wright of New Windsor, Grandchildren: Steven Michael Smith, Justine Marie Wright, Valerie Elaine Wright, Matthew Eli Smith and Emily Kathryn Wright, Preceded in death by daughter Donna Marie Wright.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday October 28, 2004 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. (beside South Carroll High School) 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 with the Rev. John Street officiating. Interment will be in Linganore Cemetery, Unionville, MD
