Gerd Macinnis

Gerd Wenche MacInnis (nee Mathiesen), 83 of Mt. Airy, MD passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Brightview assisted living in Westminster, MD.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Hewitt MacInnis.
She was born June 29, 1940, in Bergen, Norway the daughter of the late Odd Mathiesen and the late Klara Mathiesen (nee Monsen).
Gerd worked for the Norwegian American Line as a Radio Officer. She traveled the world by cargo ship and also met her husband Fred in Mombassa Kenya where they married and lived for several years.
She was an active volunteer at St. peter the Apostle in Libertytown; and belongs to the Mt. Airy Senior Center and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and gardening.
She is survived by her son John MacInnis and Daughter Cynthia MacInnis; granddaughter Melody MacInnis, and a brother Oddvar Mathiesen and his wife Elna.
Gathering of Friends and family on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 12 Noon-2 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School), with a celebration of Life service at 2 PM.
