Gervase Bruce Rybak, age 73, of Eldersburg, MD died Tuesday, August 20th, 2024. Gervase was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Francis Rybak, and daughter, Danielle Rybak. He is survived by his spouse, Nancy (Nicholson) Rybak, son Ryan (Megan) Rybak, and sisters, Piper (Rick) Gaither, and Ruth Smith.
Gervase was born on December 17th, 1950 in a small town in Rhode Island. His father’s role in the military took them all across the country, eventually landing in Camp Hill, PA, where he graduated from high school. Soon after, Gervase joined the United States Navy, where he served on the USS Snook and specialized in marine mechanics. He had a passion for submarines and the parts that made them work. After his time in the service, he took that skillset to Northrop Grumman, where he spent the bulk of his civilian career.
Gervase was married to Nancy for 41 years and shared a beautiful life together with her. He was devoted to his wife, and ever present in his children’s lives. He loved to fish, and on any given weekend, you could find him at Liberty Reservoir, fishing rods and camera in hand. He was a skilled photographer and had an amazing eye for capturing the beauty of nature. He was warm and welcoming and will be remembered by many for the way he made them feel: seen, heard and loved. Gervase was a beloved father, brother, husband and friend, and will be so very missed.
