Gladys Deanne Ford (“Dee”) passed peacefully after a brief illness at Gettysburg Hospital on November 15, 2015. Dee was the daughter of the late Pearl Dean Ford and Violet Estella Ford. She is predeceased by her brothers John L. Ford and Henry R. Ford. She is survived by her sister Marjorie Ford. She was the loving mother of son, Thomas B. Collins, wife Tracy, and granddaughters Samantha and Madison Collins of Lineboro, MD; daughter Deanne Michelle Adams, husband Greg, grandson Taylor Adams, and granddaughter Terra Adams of Aspers, PA; and daughter Cheryl Jenny Hall, husband Steve Hoff, and grandson Levi Hall of Seven Valleys, PA. Dee leaves behind her companion of 22 years and love of her life, Timothy Ryan. Dee worked for over 30 years for the U.S. Federal Government and retired as a Budget Analyst from the U.S. Department of Energy in Germantown, Maryland in 1996. Dee enjoyed all things outdoors, especially trail riding her horses, breeding mules, gardening, canning, fishing, refinishing furniture, and spending time at her cabin in Sullivan County, PA. She had a special love of all animals. She also loved to travel. Dee had an adventurous spirit and was a generous donor to a multitude of charities. She will be sorely missed by her friends and family. Friends may call on Wednesday November 18 from 6 to 9 pm at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory in Winfield, MD. Graveside services on Thursday November 19 at 11am, Lakeview Memorial Park, 2724 Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD. Online condolences at www.burrier-queen.com.
