Gladys Arlene Tolbert (nee Gibson), age 93, of Mt. Airy, MD., died Wednesday, September 29, 2021; at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital.
She was born March 7, 1928, in Boonsboro, Virginia, the daughter of the late George Gibson and Edna Pearl Gibson (nee Garrison).
She is the wife of the late John Lewis Embrey.
Gladys was a Deli Manager for Acme Foods/Giant Food; member of Calvary Lutheran Church; enjoyed Bingo and Football and loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and having weekly dinners with her sons and grandchildren and family.
She was the mother of Steve Embrey and wife Maria; and Glenn Embrey and wife Geraldine; grandchildren Juliet Embrey & (Will Stover), Raechelle Embrey, Tanya Embrey, Crystal Loberg (Todd), Jessie Murphy (Shawn) and Jason Embrey (Justine); great grandchildren Zeke and Owen Flanary, Jayden Page, Ella and Emma Loberg and Austin and Autumn Murphy; sister of Freeman “Paul” Gibson of Colorado Springs, CO.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
