To our Family and Friends,
We just wanted to make you aware that it is with deep regret and sorrow that Jackie and Frank inform you of the passing of our mother, Grace D. Machin Diedeman (Dickey), on March 4, 2015. She was 98 years old.
Dickey, as she was known to all of her friends, was born November 26, 1916, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Rush and Meg Dixon. After high school, Dickey, graduated from the Maryland General Hospital, class of 1938, as a Registered Nurse. In 1978 she retired as a supervisor of the surgical floor, at Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, her friends, and making crafts. Dickey was a member of St Paul’s United Methodist Church in Sykesville, and was also past matron of the Bethel Chapter #71 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by our father, Frank H. Machin, Jr., who died in 1989, and by her second husband, William Diedeman, whom she married in 1994 and who passed away in 1996. In addition to her surviving daughter and son-in-law, Jaqualine and Greg Burgan, and son and daughter-in-law Frank III and Donna Machin, Dickey has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mom was a loving and caring person and her family and friends were very important to her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and truly cherished her friendships. She always had a smile and never complained. She especially enjoyed making her crafts with her children and grandchildren and sharing as gifts for different occasions. We carry wonderful memories of our mother and hope that each of you has your own special memory of times with her. We would like to thank all of you for your visits, phone calls, cards, flowers and gifts to Mom while she was at Lorien. We were blessed to have her in our lives and will miss her terribly.

Jackie and Frank
