Grace (Crofts) Parker-Acker, age 83, of Taylorsville for 24 years, formerly of Lutherville and Huntington, West Virginia. She died Tuesday October 14, 2008 at her home. She was the wife of the late Richard Parker and the late Ellsworth Acker. She was born April 25, 1925 in Prineville, OR the daughter of the late Rev. William Henry Crofts; her father founded Open Door Baptist Church in Huntington, WV. And the late Eleanor (Wilson) Crofts, Her father was an Immigrant from England and missionaries to China. She was an Administrative Secretary for CSX railroad. She was a member of Taylorsville U.M. Church and the Open Door Baptist Church of Huntington, WV. Played the organ, loves gardening and her Dachshund Happy II. Survived by sister in law and companion Lucille A. Houck of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Nephew Dr. Richard A. Crofts; niece Donna McManaman, niece Carol Bahr, Nephew Neil Crofts and Nephew Philip Crofts. Funeral Service will be held Friday October 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Taylorsville U.M. Church 4356 Ridge Road in Taylorsville with the Rev. Sarah Dorrance of Taylorsville U.M. Church in Taylorsville officiating. Friends may call at the Taylorsville U.M. Church on Friday from 10:00-11:00 AM. Graveside Service will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, in Richmond, VA on Saturday October 18, 2008 at 12:30 PM, with the Dr. Richard A. Crofts officiating.
