Harold Thornburg

Harold Duane Thornburg 84 of Mt. Airy, MD, died Thursday September 13, 2012 at home. He was the spouse of the late Margaret (Cochran) Thornburg. He was born November 13, 1927 in Rippey, Iowa the son of the late Verner Thornburg and Nin (Tipton) Thornburg. Mr. Thornburg was a Nuclear Engineer for The Nuclear Regulatory Commission, He was a Veteran of the US Army, Enjoyed Fishing Interested in Civil War History and Involved in the Boy Scouts. Surviving is Grandson Matthew Thornburg of Mt. Airy, MD. Mr. Thornburg in preceded in death by Daughter Leslie Ann Thornburg. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday September 19, 2012 11 :00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD. The Family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday September 18, 2012. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave. Westminster, MD 21157.
