Helen Barnes

Helen I. Barnes of Mt. Airy, MD, died on August 30, 2018, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring. She is survived by son Walter E. Jakubowski and wife Diane of Mt. Airy, and daughter Linda Barnes Slack, of Stafford, VA. She was predeceased by son Gary Jakubowski. She is also survived by granddaughter Marcie Slack of Stafford, VA, several great-grandchildren, sister Nancy Leith of Potomac, MD, and many wonderful friends and other relatives. Helen retired from Safeway as assistant manager with 30 years of service. She loved to paint and work in her flower gardens. She also liked to travel, bake, and feed and identify birds. She was a treasure and will forever be watching over us from heaven.
Private Inurnment and Service. No flowers.
