Helen Brown

Helen Belle Brown, 90, of Mt. Airy passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Bright View Assisted Living in Westminster. Born May 23, 1926 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Laura Rhoton. She was the beloved wife of William A. “Brownie” Brown, Sr., her husband of 68 years, who passed away January 25, 2016 and devoted mother of William A. “Tiny” Brown, Jr., who passed away May 23, 1996. Surviving is her niece and caregiver Laura Thomas; sisters-in-law Dorothy Alden and husband Edward and Edith Cole and husband Joseph; brother-in-law Robert Brown and wife Barbara; her sister Maysie Bryant; and also survived by 4 generations of nieces and nephews in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (21784), (Beside South Carroll High School), where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2017 with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Brown’s name to the Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157 or to the Freedom District Lions Club, P.O.
