Howard Criddle

Howard Calvin Criddle, age 86, of Sykesville, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his home. He was born May 27, 1925 in Hinton, West Virginia the son of the late Henry Lee Criddle and the late Sally Ann Criddle (nee Sears). He was the beloved husband of Zane (Pat) Criddle (nee Mason), married July 13, 1947. He worked for Frank J. Klein’s & Sons for over 30 years as a plumber and earning several licenses. He lived in Cleveland, Ohio and Baltimore, MD. He served in the US Navy from 1943-1947 and honorable discharge on March 23, 1946, during WWII, he was a ship fitter on the U.S.S. Sumner as his rank was SF3C. He was the devoted father of Barbara Cheswick and husband Michael, and the late Carolyn Campbell. He was the devoted father in law of Larry Campbell; and grandfather in law of Mike Ratigan. He was the loving grandfather of Meghan Wenner and husband Jason, Barret ZuWallack and wife Risa, Shannon Emmel and husband John, Ashley Waldron and husband Eddie, and the late Michele Ratigan. Also great grandfather of Brendon Ratigan, Mason Ratigan and Alice Waldron. Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday March 6, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Bon Secours Spiritual Center, 1525 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville, MD 21104, with the Rev. Pam Rainey officiating. Private inurnment. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association or Maryland Humane Society.
