Jack McRae Collins, III, age 47 of Woodbine Maryland died unexpectedly December 5, 2024 at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. McRae was born October 7, 1977, in Greenville, NC to the late Jack McRae Collins, Jr and the late Susan Taylor Collins Mizelle. He will be remembered for his loving, charismatic nature, giving heart, and deep love for his family. McRae is survived by his beloved wife Katherine Echerd Collins, daughters Cassidy and McKenzie Collins, step-daughters Allison and Leah Randall, sister Taylor Collins Flowers (Ty Flowers), niece Tenley Flowers, nephew Jack-Ryker Flowers of Cape Carteret, NC.
McRae graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) in 1999 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He received his Master of Science in Homeland Defense and Security from Naval Postgraduate School, completed the Harvard University Senior Executive Fellow Program and received his PhD (ABD) in Health and Policy Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
During his military career he achieved the rank of Captain, became a distinguished helicopter pilot, completed multiple overseas combat deployments and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
Services will be conducted at Calvary Baptist Church, 3200 Ridge Rd, Westminster, MD 21157 on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the Service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at a later date.
Following the service all are invited, and wholeheartedly encouraged to come to the home of McRae and Katherine to watch Army beat Navy. Food will be provided.
