Jackie Thomas Raines, 88 of Mt. Airy, MD
Passed Sunday, February 26, 2023 at home.
He was the Beloved husband of the late Lois L. (Kidwell) Raines. He was born July 29, 1934 I Unionville, MD the son of the late Elmer Raines and the late Ollie O. (Martin) Raines.
Mr. Raines was Forman for Kettler Brothers. He was known around town as “The Wood Whisperer”. Jackie was a train enthusiast and had helped with restoring the Kabose that is in Downtown Mt. Airy.
Survived by his sons Charles O. and wife Mary Raines of Damascus, Phillip T. Raines and partner Sherrie Collier. Loving grandfather of Tiffany, Jake, Danielle, Luke and Blake and the late Jennifer. Also survived by step-daughter Judith “Judy” and husband Gene Riley of Mt. Airy. Predeceased by siblings Catherine, Clarence and Charles.
A Celebration of Life will be for both Lois and Jackie in the Spring.
