James Michael Hopkins, age 57, of Sykesville, MD, died Thursday, September 07, 2017 at Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, MD.
He was born June 6, 1960 in Baltimore County, Maryland, the son of Mary Ellen Kearns Hopkins and the late John Henry Hopkins; and the late foster parents Dan and Allimae Winkles.
He was the husband of Sue Hopkins of Sykesville, MD.
He was a graduate from South Carroll High School, a Fuel Driver for Southern States for 14 years, Park Fuel for a year and VonEff Oil for a year; and a Mechanic and Bus Driver for ABC Transportation for 3 yrs.; enjoyed fishing and raising cows, pigs and animals.
Survived by daughter Rachael Hopkins Linthicum and son in law Walter Linthicum, Jr.; granddaughters Victoria Starr Hopkins, Cassy Marie Linthicum and Savana Elizabeth Linthicum of Taneytown, MD, brother Robert Hopkins of Virginia, nephew Daniel Lister, Jr. of Reisterstown, MD, sisters Sharon Parker of Virginia, Nancy Nicoles of Winfield, MD, Karen Lister and Janet Seal both of Damascus, MD; also had several sisters and brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 PM, at which time funeral Service will begin at 4:00 PM with Rev. William “Bill” Phebus of Sharon Baptist church officiating; Private Interment. After funeral service at Funeral Home family will have Luncheon at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home multipurpose room.
