James Donald Jones, age 77, of Westminster, MD, died Monday, May 4, 2015 at home.
He was born January 22, 1938, in Harrisburg, PA, to Clair Leroy Jones & Mary Ophelia (Michaels) Jones, both deceased.
He was employed as a Line Type Setter for the Evening Star Newspaper and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. James enjoyed Redskins football, NASCAR racing, golfing, and camping.
Mr. Jones was the husband to the late Elaine Evelyn (Magruder) Jones. He was the father of Charles Lane & wife Abbye Jones of Baltimore, Diana Lynne Jones of Westminster, Donald Lee & wife Holly Jones of Dayton, MD. James was the brother of Jean Green, George Jones, Russell Jones and the late Richard Jones. He was the grandfather of Bryan Jones, Heather Jones, Joshua Jones, Timothy Pitcher, and Leah Pitcher, and great-grandfather of Victoria Jones, William Pitcher, and Saige Marie Cunningham.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Visitation for family and friends begins at 1:00 PM.
